Guadalupe Magdaleno

Lupe, as she typically goes by is Sunflower's resident organizer on worker rights issues.  Fighting wage theft, employee misclassification, and OSHA non-compliance, Lupe is committed to working for workers.  Her goal is to educate laborers to their rights and how to stand up to defend and exercise them.  When asked why she took her job as an organizer, she simply told them, "because I'm passionate about justice."

"I'm committed... to creating change; a change that creates justice for the workers that are falling victim to the greed of corporations"

Lupe's involvement with Sunflower began in 2003 when she started volunteering around the office.  Through the encouragement of staff, her leadership potential grew and was soon noticed at a National People's Action conference in Washington, DC.  In 2010, Lupe came on as the lead Labor Rights organizer.  "I want to do my best to leave a better world and society to my grandchildren and I love helping people."  Lupe is in the right place at Sunflower.
