Dorlan Bales

Sunflower couldn't operate without someone to handle the important paperwork. Dorlan Bales provides leadership to Sunflower's grant proposal writing and other fundraising efforts. As the longtime (20+ year veteran) Development Director put it, "I enjoy connecting Sunflower's good work with donors' passions for justice." Dorlan is proud to have been a major player in Sunflower since the beginning.

Dorlan loves telling the story of the organization, explaining complex non-profit rules and regulations to staff, as well as filling out paperwork to perfection--it may seem like the dreariest job at an organization, but without someone as skilled and knowledgeable as Dorlan, Sunflower Community Action would be unable to provide the kind of support to Kansas communities and national campaigns, as it has since he first arrived here over 20 years ago.
